Re: My golden barrel is turning pale green what does it need?

this is what i use.tried to put it on direct sunlight but it worsened its condition. I know Golden Barrels are tough just wanted it to look like my huge one... Did you use the amount that that osmocote says to use? I believe those ratios are too high since they’re for flowers that require a lot mor...

Re: My golden barrel is turning pale green what does it need?

My cactus Grusonii is also with a pale green, and others (the smallest), as well as purple. They have been from the month of October abroad, enduring cold and wind, and the sun only gave them 2 hours a day. (tomorrow I send you photos of mine) 3 of them have died. Possibly because of having "bad gen...

Re: is it good idea to use crates for raised beds

Two things I can tell you from experience: first, it totally depends on the plants if they would mind the fabric. Some have small enough root systems that would avoid the edges anyway, others need more room. The fabric allows air through of course, and acts as an invisible barrier and roots stay awa...

Re: Succulents from Trader Joe’s

The more sun the more red. Keep an eye out for mealie bugs as they love campfire.

Leaf propagating can be hit and miss. They don't take very long if you throw a bit of stem with some leaves on it into soil. Give them a few days to dry out at the cut end before you plant.

Re: Bear paw (Cotyledon tomentosa) questions

My fist move is to give the plant more light and slowly acclimate it to stronger light. Even if a plant can handle strong sun, it can sometimes burn if it's a sudden change.

Re: Bear paw (Cotyledon tomentosa) questions

Better light is the right idea to combat the etiolation. If it's indoors and the new location was scorching the plant, try moving it farther away from the window or into a spot where it gets light for more of the day, but not so direct. It can be tricky when you're growing indoors to find the ideal ...

Re: How to remove glue from cacti from Home Depot?

They sell because people want plant decor, not plants. And they think a cactus will require nothing of them. And if it comes with some color attached? Even better! I love that people are getting into plants. I hate that the trend has driven up prices and made growers do stupid stuff like this to tri...
